I rarely get excited about bridal gowns, or, for that matter, about weddings in general (blame my icy soul). Yet the French creative director and stylist Lolita Jacobs has sparked in me an unprecedented wedding interest…and envy.

A few weeks ago, Jacobs wed Jean-Baptiste Talbourdet-Napoleone, creative director of M Le Magazine du Monde,  in sunny St. Tropez, the French Riviera city synonymous with sunshine. Jacobs spent summers there as a child. But seeing as Jacobs was born and raised in Paris she has mastered the art of je-ne-sais-quoi effortless style, she flaunted her unique fashion sense with four ensembles over a weekend of celebrations.

But one outfit in particular caught our attention: The white Azzedine Alaïa shirt she paired with Manolo Blahnik red flats for her civil ceremony. It was a daring bridal choice, yes, but also a picture of elegance and sophistication, that added a modern touch to a traditional institution (mind you, nothing was really traditional about this wedding). The cotton poplin piece drew from a classic shirt silhouette, yet the close fit and flare peplum accentuated her waist in an effortless and timeless way. Her overall look remained minimalist, Jacobs wore natural makeup and simple wavy locks subtly tucked behind a floor-length veil. Perfection.

If you want to borrow Jacobs’ cool bride style, here are some white shirts worth wedding the love of your life in.

Everyone’s favourite fashion wormhole on Instagram, @FashionNova, is about to get a lot more addictive. The online fast fashion giant (12.6 million followers and counting!) is largely responsible for all of the spandex shorts and matching crop top-pencil skirt situations you see on your feed. Basically, the brand is great for anyone who wants to copy the Kardashians and Jenners day-to-day outfits to a tee. And apparently, 12.8 million people do. In fact, the retailer is doing so well that they’ll be releasing a collaboration line with Cardi B in October 2018.

And as was recently announced in an interview Fashion Nova CEO CEO Richard Saghian did with Business of Fashion, the brand is expanding into beauty, too, with a line called NovaBeauty. “We are transforming FashionNova.com into a one-stop shop lifestyle destination,” said Saghian. The best way to do that, of course, is an affordable, in-house beauty line.

“We are the fastest growing brand in the world,” says Saghian. “We have no seasonality. Every month going forward was larger than the previous month due to our NovaBabes being so loyal.” No word yet on a release date, but rest assured, once NovaBeauty is out, you’ll know as soon as you open Instagram.

Canada’s largest country music festival returns next week with a 40-act roster that includes artists like Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett and Brett Young. The event spans four days and with Wayhome currently on hiatus, Boots & Hearts promises to be the biggest musical showdown this summer. So, it’s time to make sure you have all your outfits in order.

Now, this festival might be country casual, but just because you’re wearing flannel and denim cut-offs, doesn’t mean you can’t look chic. From studded boots to statement earrings we’ve selected pieces that will elevate your look while keeping you comfortable enough for dancing all weekend long.
