Gwen Stefani is receiving the Fashion Icon Award at this year’s People’s Choice Awards

It was announced this week that singer Gwen Stefani will receive the 2019 Fashion Icon award at the upcoming People’s Choice Awards. It comes as no surprise that Stefani would be recognized for her contribution to fashion, both for her standout style across the years and her many successful fashion and lifestyle businesses (The Hollywood Reporter estimates that the brands have netted USD$1 billion in sales). In an official statement, the singer said, “It’s an incredible honour to receive [the award]. As an artist, musician and entrepreneur, fashion has always served as a creative outlet for me to express my personality and music. I am so grateful to receive this award and continue to be inspired by those who stand apart and embrace their unique style and individuality.”

Celine taps Margaret Qualley for its newest campaign

The name Margaret Qualley may not instantly ring a bell for you, but give it a few years and it’s likely to be everywhere. The daughter of Andie MacDowell and Paul Qualley, the actress is fast becoming in-demand talent in Hollywood. She recently starred in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood and Fosse/Verdon and now she’s back in front of the camera – but this time, it’s for Celine’s new Essentiels campaign. In a series of black-and-white images, Qualley is seen modelling the brand’s Chaîne Maillon Triomphe bag, shot by artistic director Hedi Slimane. She is also captured on film for the brand set to the soundtrack of Starstruck by UK band Sorry.

Royal wedding photographer Alexi Lubomirski launched his own YouTube channel

YouTube’s new /Fashion hub has welcomed yet another high profile contributor: fashion and celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski. The British photographer, who is perhaps best known for his work on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s engagement and wedding photos, described the channel as a “behind-the-scenes look into my life” and announced that new content (which includes an original series called Face To Face) will be shared every other Thursday. In a statement, the avid activist, said, “With this YouTube channel I will get a chance to show my viewers exactly what it is I do, whether it’s on set, attending events, or sitting down with the industry’s top creatives.”

Rihanna revealed who she wants to design her wedding dress with

OK, so she’s not technically engaged as yet but a girl can dream, right? Rihanna – who has been dating businessman Hassan Jameel for two years – recently confessed in an interview that when she does walk down the aisle, she’d like to co-design her dress with John Galliano. Galliano is, after all, the man who designed the dress she wore to the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination Met Gala in 2018. “It would probably be a collaboration between myself and John Galliano,” she said. Can you even imagine what that masterpiece will look like? Come one Hassan, we all need this.

Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent’s creative director, took to Instagram this week to present the brand’s newest accessory: condoms. Made from 100 per cent rubber, the condoms are wrapped in elegant, on-brand designs that align with the luxurious style the French fashion house is famous for. There’s seven designs in total, from leopard print to black-and-white racing checks. Currently they are only being sold at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite store for the modest price of 2 euros per piece – which might just be the cheapest Saint Laurent item we’ll ever see.
