Today officially marks the end of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s life as working senior royals. Whilst they remain royals by title (and Harry by blood), the pair have made the decision to step away from their royal life in order to pursue other opportunities and ventures.

Yesterday, the pair shared a touching farewell on their Sussex Royal Instagram page, notifying fans that as of today, the page (as well as the Sussex Royal website) would no longer be updated. A spokesperson for the couple also shared that they plan to take some time as a family whilst “continuing to do what they can, safely and privately, to support and work with their pre-existing charitable commitments while developing their future non-profit organization.”

Since joining the royal family, Meghan served up a treasure trove of cool, fresh looks that had us (and the world) wanting to emulate her style. She expertly toed the line between royal and runway, all while championing smaller labels (including plenty from Canada) alongside her lineup of luxury brands. She single-handedly made the case for the versatility of a shirt dress, proving that you can wear one for just about any occasion, as well as giving us all a lesson in colour-blocking.

To celebrate her sartorial impact during her life as a senior royal, we’ve rounded up 23 of her best looks from the years.

In the documentary Krow’s Transformation, B.C.-based model Krow Kian—who happens to be on our April cover—shares the story of his transition to becoming a male while highlighting the trials and tribulations associated with the process. Kian, who started to model in his early teens, returned to the fashion world after his transition in the most bombastic way possible: Being cast in the Louis Vuitton Spring 2019 women’s runway show in Paris. “It has been really positive so far and I’ve had a lot of support,” Kian says about his re-entry into the industry. “I’ve been lucky enough to not face judgement, only people curious about what being transgender means.”

Kian has since graced catwalks for brands like Valentino, Roland Mouret and Alexander McQueen, and earlier this month, he announced that Krow’s Transformation had won six awards in the Doctors Without Borders Film Festival. We caught up with the rising star to hear more about his journey and how it’s inspiring others as he observes International Trans Day of Visibility.

How has your work as a model allowed you to connect with the trans community?

Previously, the only community I was part of was the cosplay community, where I met many trans friends. Modelling has given me a platform to represent trans people, and better interact with the queer community at-large.

In our conversation for the April issue, you mentioned that you get a lot of messages from trans youth; how does your story inspire them?

I think seeing that a trans person can have a successful career gives them hope that changing their body doesn’t mean changing their dreams.

Who inspired you the most during your transition?

Because I had never seen an openly transgender man in media, I only had my trans cosplay friends to look up to and be inspired by. They made me realize there were options, and I wasn’t just weird.

What are you taking time to reflect on today on International Trans Day of Visibility?

Seeing that it’s not just the fashion industry that is accepting,  but that the whole world is slowly coming around. There is still a long way to go, but each day it’s getting closer.

What’s your biggest piece of advice for anyone who is struggling with their identity or transition?

Being true to yourself will make you a lot happier than trying to please others. Take the time to explore your identity and figure out who you are, if you are confused. Everyone is an individual and will represent differently.

Is there an organization that works with the trans community that you’d like to give a shout out to?

Sadly, it was not in place when I started my transition, but TransCareBC has streamlined the process for those trying to navigate support while transitioning, from accessing therapists to surgeons. Three Bridge’s Community Health Center is where I started my journey and they’re awesome!

Celebrities across the world may be confined to their homes like the rest of us but they’re pitching in wherever they can to raise money and awareness for desperately-needed COVID-19 relief. ICYMI, Emily Hampshire is starting a weekly YouTube talk show, Taylor Swift and Britney Spears are helping out financially-strapped fans, and Kylie Jenner made a generous donation to help out Los Angeles hospitals. Now, the stars of Schitt’s Creek are coming together to raise funds via GoFundMe.org for Food Banks Canada and Feeding America, two non-profits dedicated to helping people living with food insecurity (a rapidly rising number in these troubled times).

Schitt’s Creek co-creator Dan Levy took to social media this afternoon, announcing that he and his castmates will be doing a series of Instagram Lives starting today, and running for a whole week until the series finale (sob) next Tuesday.

“This is a really tricky time,” Levy said in a video post. “People are losing their jobs, we’re all feeling a little nervous and scared so what we want to do is repay some of the generosity that has been shown to us over the years by raising money for people who might be living with food insecurities and ensuring that people don’t go hungry during this really difficult time.”

Every day at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT for the next seven days, different Schitt’s Creek cast members will be going live on their personal Instagram pages in hopes of providing some brief entertainment during this period of self-isolation, while raising funds for these two organizations. Of the people tuning in, the cast is requesting those with the means to do so to donate any amount, big or small, towards this cause. All funds raised (the aim is to hit $100,000 by the end of the week) will go to GoFundMe.org, a non-profit organization, and will be evenly distributed between Food Banks Canada and Feeding America.

“All we ask is that if you join the Instagram Live, that maybe you consider donating small or big,” Levy said. “I know this is a tough time financially for a lot of people, so if you can’t donate that’s OK too.” To kick off this fundraising week, Levy is going live on Instagram tonight (March 31) at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT for an hour, “answering any and all Schitt’s Creek-related questions.”

To donate, please visit the show’s GoFundMe page here.

Listen up Fenty fans, the news you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived: Fenty Skincare is coming.

Rihanna confirmed that she is expanding her billion dollar beauty business to include skincare “imminently” according to a new interview with British Vogue.  “Skincare, it’s the truth. It either works or it doesn’t. There’s nowhere to hide,” she said of the pressure to create skincare products that actually perform.

Rumours of a skincare line began circulating last year following a trademark filing for “Fenty Skin” which included “medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators.”

It’s no secret that Rihanna is incredibly hands-on when it comes to her brands, especially Fenty Beauty. Born in 2017, the beauty brand has since taken off and was responsible for ushering in a new era of inclusive beauty. This, Rihanna says, was unexpected. “I’m shocked by people saying, ‘Oh my god, what made you think of making makeup for black girls?’ I’m like, ‘What? You thought this was like, a marketing strategy? Like I’m a genius?’ It’s shocking most of the time. Then it turns into disappointment that this is groundbreaking right now. In my mind, this was just normal.”

She also confesses that everything you see on the Fenty Beauty site and products comes from her. “I write all the copy for the websites, the product descriptions, product names, the colour names… I do have a huge team but I just don’t necessarily think their tone is mine. I’d feel like a fraud selling something that I can’t stand by.”

There was no mention of an official launch date for Fenty Skincare but we suspect this new launch would be very well received by Fenty fans right now. Well, that and/or an album. Over to you RiRi.

We’re entering week three of social distancing/quarantine/self-isolation/whatever you like to call it here in Canada, and if you’re anything like me, your natural hair has now taken over. As someone with natural curls and thick hair that resembles that of Hermione in the first Harry Potter movie, I usually straighten/blowdry my hair every week. But, since being in lockdown, I’ve decided to lay off the hot tools to give my hair a break. And it turns out that I’m not alone in this approach – Ariana Grande is embracing her natural locks right now, too.

Overnight, Grande took to Instagram to share a selfie in which her natural hair was on full display. For those that only know the 7 Rings singer with her lustrous long ponytails, her natural locks are a stark, but beautiful contrast. In the image, Grande can be seen with her dark ringlet curls tumbling over her shoulders, with a few pieces falling softly over her kohl-rimmed eyes. She captioned the photo by writing, “Get a load a dis.”

Her celebrity friends were quick to praise the look. Katy Perry coined what might just be my new favourite phrase ‘covid curl’ writing, “Here for this covid curl”, whilst Tracee Ellis Ross, Zac Posen, Jeremy Scott, Jessie J and Chloe x Halle all shared various love heart emojis in the comments section. And it seems fans are equally as enamoured as the post has racked up almost six million likes since it was posted.

This isn’t the first time the Grammy Award winner has shown off her natural locks, though it is a fairly rare sighting. Grande has previously shared glimpses of her curls on various Instagram stories, as well as on the cover of Vogue back in July of last year. Here’s hoping we see plenty more of them in the coming weeks.

And speaking of hair, if you’re thinking of colouring your own while you’re at home, read this first.
