Kim Kardashian West is launching Nude Gloss next week

After a collection drop in both January (Celestial Skies) and February (Mrs. West), Kim Kardashian West isn’t slowing down. Her cult-favourite makeup line, KKW Beauty, has announced that new products are launching on March 20. The first of this release is a series of lip colours called Nude Gloss, which offers 11 glossy hues of nude that correspond to the exact colours of her pre-existing Nude Crème Lipstick series. An eyeshadow palette dubbed Classic II completes this drop, and features 10 earthy and neutral shades. Get your hands on these two products at KKWBeauty.com once they launch.

Sephora halts all paid in-house services due to COVID-19

Cosmetics giant Sephora has announced that it will be temporarily suspending all paid in-store services, makeup applications and classes across North America, until further notice. Taking further precaution, the brand’s official statement says that they have reminded employees (across stores, warehouses and corporate offices) to be vigilant in following rigorous hygiene protocols and best practices, including limiting non-essential travel. The statement also suggests that “as the situation remains fluid, [they] will continue to assess needs to maintain client experience in stores and [online]. In an effort to promote the most inclusive beauty experience and accommodate clients who may wish to shop from home, Sephora will waive all standard shipping fees during the month of March.”

Similar to Sephora’s precautions, some Ulta Beauty services will be temporarily paused at specific locations. The American beauty chain is currently welcoming customers to reschedule any appointments, and urge a reschedule if customers are not feeling well.

Glossier closes its retail locations in response to COVID-19 pandemic

With coronavirus precautions quickly building traction in North America, makeup and skincare brand Glossier has temporarily closed all retail locations. This will last for at least two weeks in an attempt to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus, and the brand will compensate employees for their scheduled time throughout the closure.

Glossier founder and CEO Emily Weiss announced in a letter that closing was not an easy decision, and that she has a “heavy heart” in knowing that official orders for social distancing are basically the opposite of the brand’s ethos. Weiss’s statement reads, in part: “[I] reconsidered my original position [during this outbreak] of “let’s follow, not lead” on the retail front. ‘If stores start closing, we’ll quickly follow suit. If foot traffic drops, we’ll close.’ Then I thought: Wait a minute, we are leaders in retail, in so many ways. Our permanent and temporary offline experiences are more of a daily community event than a traditional store. Why wouldn’t we lead here? This quickly became an easy, albeit painful, decision. Together with our community, we will always strive to create less harm and more good in the world.”

Vanessa Hudgens joins the neon nail trend

This week, Vanessa Hudgens has been brightening up Instagram feeds with her neon nail colour. The star donned a fluorescent yellow, which is super fun given that neons pop in daylight and glow in blacklight. As someone who goes for moodier tones and styles, this hue stands out on her feed and gives her fingertips a fresh, springy vibe. Hudgens isn’t the only star to be manicured in neon yellow either: Jennifer Lopez is in on the trend, too.
