I remember 7th grade health class, the sound of boys giggling in the background, while a million questions filled my head… all of which I was way too terrified to ask out loud. You’ve probably had a similar experience, too. However, gone are the days of hiding tampons up your sleeves or experiencing that horrible mix of dread and shame while cashing out a bottle of lube at your local pharmacy.
It’s 2019, and is it EVER a time to be alive. Last year, the Global Wellness Summit dubbed “feminist wellness” one the biggest trends of 2018, and the rise in cool new sex-care brands aimed towards women (and run by women!) proves it.
Here, we’ve rounded up 10 sex-care brands—all of which ship to Canada—that are taking the ick-factor out of sexual health products.
Smile Makers
Smile Makers—whose mission is to “normalize the perception of female sexuality”—deserves an artistry award for its adorable pastel-hued vibrators, affectionately named things like “The Fireman,” “The Tennis Coach” and “The Frenchman.” They also offer lube; you can take a quiz on the website to find the right one for your needs.
Love Wellness
Watch out Monistat and Canesten: Love Wellness is a cool new brand that’s joining the suppository game. The company also offers wipes and supplements to help enhance sleep, brighten skin and manage period pains. Oh, and fun fact: Love Wellness is run by Lo Bosworth, of The Hills fame.
Woo More Play
This brand’s hero product, Coconut Love Oil, is formulated with minimal ingredients, so it’s totally edible. What it doesn’t contain? A whole bunch of ingredients we can’t even pronounce.
Lovability Inc.
You’ve probably seen Lovability’s condoms and lubes (packaged in iridescent wrappers and lipgloss tubes, respectively) on your IG feed. However, what you probably didn’t know is that the company donates to Planned Parenthood for every sale they make.

From February to March, the world’s major style capitals served no shortage of sartorial splendour and polarizing cultural antics. The Row went viral for banning the use of phones at its hyper-exclusive show. Coperni debuted a bag made of 99 per cent air . There was even a Kate Moss doppelgänger gallivanting about! But through it all, the lasting excitement came from the looks on the runway — which will set the tone for fall winter 2024 fashion trends. Designers continued to showcase their preference for peplum , sheer and elevated athleisure while bringing fresh pairings into the mix. Meanwhile, cold-weather staples like hats and coats took on different roles with luxe textures and unconventional shapes. From controversial new high-fashion codes to more-is-more accessorizing themes, we’re breaking down the bigg...
